Recent work on a unique quantum crystal led by Columbia postdoc Chiara Trovatello from Jim Schuck's lab is gracing the cover of the March issue of Nature Photonics!

In the research, published on January 13, the team describes a device created from the van der Waals material molybdenum disulfide that can efficiently generate entangled photons at telecoms-capable wavelengths—a potent new example of nonlinear optics on a microscopic scale.
